Aidwatch study reveals 90% of EU aid never reaches the destination

An Aidwatch study from the European NGO group Concord found that 90 percent of the EU's aid, the world's single largest aid donor group, may never arrive at target countries. This is ascribed to 'inflated aid', which is aid tied to institutions in the donor country rather than to institutions in the developing country. Aidwatch also notes most EU countries' failure to contribute the agreed 0.7 percent of GDP.
