UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that he will be banning cars powered by diesel or petrol by 2035, five years earlier than the date that was previously given. This ban is part of a larger plan to tackle climate change and air pollution. These dates are just his targets, it is currently unknown if the government will manage to meet them.

UK researchers' coronavirus tracking app goes viral

A startup called Zoe has, in collaboration with King's College Hospital in London, launched a viral app for self-reporting COVID-19 symptoms, called C-19 COVID Symptom Tracker, garnering over 750,000 downloads in the last 24 hours, becoming the third most popular app on Apple's app store. The app is not designed for diagnosis, but rather to help medical professionals better plan their responses, and will soon be released in the US.
