EU litigates after UK's failure in nominating commission candidate

The EU has decided to pursue legal action against the UK, in light of their failure to nominate a candidate for the European Commission under European Union law. UK taxpayers could end up paying for a hefty fine, in spite of UK prime minister Boris Johnson's claims that he would abide by the law.
