Executive for Rolls-Royce's largest investor quits board

Bradley Singer, chief operating officer at ValueAct Capital, Rolls-Royce's largest shareholder, has left his position as a non-executive director in the company's board. ValueAct had invested in the iconic car manufacturer in 2016 at a time when profits were plunging, and had stated that the company was now on the mend. Singer's departure might signal ValueAct's imminent withdrawal from further investment in Rolls-Royce.

Tesla ends 2019 with record profits and production

Tesla reported its second consecutive quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2019, after years of losses and production woes. With the company beating deadlines for production of its new model Y and promising more than 500,000 units in production for 2020, investor confidence in Tesla has increased, improving its stock price by 13 percent.

Saudi Arabia's state-owned Aramco, currently by far the the most valuable company in the world at 1.87 trillion USD, has revealed that it exercised its 'greenshoe option' to raise its IPO to a record 29.4 billion USD. The greenshoe option, also called over-allotment, allows a company to issue more shares in its IPO when there is greater demand from initial investors.

Mercedes-Benz expected to be 2019's bestselling premium car brand

German car manufacturer Daimler's Mercedes-Benz family of cars is expected to be this year's bestselling premium car brand, with record sales in Germany, China ,and the US totaling 2.34 million units. Rival company BMW sold more cars as a group than Daimler, with total sales of 2.52 million cars compared to Daimler's 2.46 million.
