French Aircraft Carrier Returns To Port

The French navy's flagship, the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, is returning to home port after dozens of crew members showed signs of COVID-19, the armed services ministry announced Wednesday.
The statement from France's Ministry of the Armed Forces comes after the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a U.S. Navy nuclear-powered carrier, experienced a similar outbreak.

French police fatally shoot potential mass murderer in Paris

A 23-year-old Parisian man currently identified Nathan C. went on a murderous rampage in a park in the town of Villejuif wielding a knife, leaving one person dead and two more injured. The attacker was shot dead by French police, and while copies of the Qur'an were found in the man's belongings and a witness reports hearing him recite Islamic verses, authorities are hesitant to call the attack religiously motivated.

12 die in plane crash near Almaty in Kazakhstan

A Bek Air plane crashed near the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan shortly after takeoff on Friday. At least 12 of the 100 passengers died while 22 more were severely injured and taken to two hospitals. Pending an investigation of the crash, all Bek Air and Fokker 100 flights in Kazakhstan have been suspended.
