Google clears Podcast Addict of AdMob policy violation once again

Google recently decided to block most Admob ads in the app because people can download (*gasp*) adult-themed podcasts. Several weeks ago, Google flagged Podcast Addict for hosting explicit content and blocked almost all of its Admob display ads. Perhaps Podcast Addict will be able to get back into Google's good graces by hiding adult content behind a settings toggle, but Google doesn't exactly offer consistent guidance to developers.

Google plans to pay publishers for news content

After increasing pressure from multiple countries to compensate publishers, Google announced that the company will pay for news content from select publishers as part of a new licensing program announced today. It says the content will form part of a “new news experience” coming later this year. Google says it’s starting the program with publishers in Germany, Australia, and Brazil, but says that it’s got “more to come soon.”

Google is preparing to finally deliver on subscriptions for Android TV, something it promised this time last year, and the company teases that there’s more to come. Ed-tech venture Lingumi raises £4 million in funds

Lingumi, a London and Cardiff-based ed-tech startup focused on teaching pre-school children critical skills, has successfully raised 4 million GBP of funding, with China-based technology fund North Summit Capital leading the round. Lingumi started offering their first course on spoken English in China last year, and also plan on offering daily free content packs and videos to support users during the COVID-19 crisis.
