New Facebook update allows users to create incredible 3D photos

Facebook has announced that in its latest update, some phones will be able to convert standard 2D pictures into interactive 3D images. This will not require a dual camera and will be done via complex new imaging software that Facebook has recently developed. It is unclear which Andriod phones will be able to use the feature.

EU to no longer ban facial recognition in public areas

The European Union has dropped the idea of banning the use of facial recognition technology in public areas. They revealed this in a new draft of a proposal that intends to regulate the use of AI technology in the future. The new AI regulations have mostly to do with high-risk areas such as transport and healthcare.

Facebook has created a new facial recognition app that allows employees to identify people by simply pointing their phone cameras at them. The software taps into the vast number of identities and pictures that Facebook has access to. Although the app is currently only available to employees and only works on those who consent to be part of the facial recognition database.
