H2Go Power pioneers hydrogen-powered drones

Dr. Enass Abo-Hamed, heading the H2Go Power team at Imperial College in London, has discovered a novel way to store hydrogen gas in tanks that does not require the use of large, heavy tanks, which has made possible the use of aluminium hydrogen storage tanks that are light enough to power drones. Dr. Abo-Hamed has expressed her hopes that the discovery will help make renewable energy garner more acceptance.

Ed-tech venture Lingumi raises £4 million in funds

Lingumi, a London and Cardiff-based ed-tech startup focused on teaching pre-school children critical skills, has successfully raised 4 million GBP of funding, with China-based technology fund North Summit Capital leading the round. Lingumi started offering their first course on spoken English in China last year, and also plan on offering daily free content packs and videos to support users during the COVID-19 crisis.

UK researchers' coronavirus tracking app goes viral

A startup called Zoe has, in collaboration with King's College Hospital in London, launched a viral app for self-reporting COVID-19 symptoms, called C-19 COVID Symptom Tracker, garnering over 750,000 downloads in the last 24 hours, becoming the third most popular app on Apple's app store. The app is not designed for diagnosis, but rather to help medical professionals better plan their responses, and will soon be released in the US.

Los Angeles to become first US city to use green Hydrogen to generate electricity

Los Angeles plans to become the first US city to use renewable hydrogen to generate electricity, eventually phasing out coal and oil completely. They intend to be 100% renewable before the year 2045 but may even reach this goal in the next ten years. The first hydrogen plant will be operational in 2025.
