Iranian president presents ambitious budget to combat US embargo
The Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, termed it a "budget of resistance", referring to the severe US embargo that has been placed on the country's economy since the Trump administration withdrew from the Iran deal. The 39 billion USD budget will include raises in public sector wages, and attempt to spur non-oil exports from Iran in light of the US sanctions.
