Island refugee camps will be replaced by 'detention centers' by Greece

Greece's new conservative government has announced plans for relocating more than 27,000 migrants residing in heavily crowded refugee camps on the islands of Lesbos, Chios, and Samos. The refugees will be relocated to closed centers where they will undergo checks for identification, relocation, and deportation. These places have been likened by campaigners to detention centers since refugees will not be allowed to move freely until their status confirmation.
