Police in London has announced that the city will be deploying facial recognition technology all over the city to help officers locate persons of interest if they ever show up in security camera footage. The police also said that the technology would be used safely and transparently.

UK researchers' coronavirus tracking app goes viral

A startup called Zoe has, in collaboration with King's College Hospital in London, launched a viral app for self-reporting COVID-19 symptoms, called C-19 COVID Symptom Tracker, garnering over 750,000 downloads in the last 24 hours, becoming the third most popular app on Apple's app store. The app is not designed for diagnosis, but rather to help medical professionals better plan their responses, and will soon be released in the US.
