Marvel unveils new superheroes Snowflake and Safespace, fans confused

Ahead of the release of its New Warriors comic book series, Marvel has unveiled some of the series' new superheroes, with twin African-American characters Snowflake and Safespace generating confusion and in some cases outrage among fans on social media, who take offense to the studio's apparent tone-deafness to the meanings of their names, with writer Kibblesmith describing Snowflake as a non-binary superhero who prefers non-gendered pronouns.
