NASA commissions tech startup to build first-ever commercial living pod in the international space station

NASA has commissioned Axiom Space, a tech startup, to build the first-ever commercial habitable pod for the International Space Station. This pod could be used to house experiments and even commercial tourists just visiting space. Both organizations have not worked out a schedule for the construction and operation of the pod as of yet.

Axiom Space has announced that it is now willing and able to send people on a round trip to the International Space Station for 10 whole days. The trip will cost the customer $55 million and will launch sometime in 2021. The company intends to send 3 people to the ISS at a time.

SpaceX contracted by NASA to explore Psyche asteroid

Billionaire inventor Elon Musk's aerospace company SpaceX has been awarded a NASA deal worth 117 million USD for a mission to explore a mineral-heavy asteroid called Psyche, which is thought to contain clues to the evolution of terrestrial planets. SpaceX will be using a Falcon Heavy rocket for the mission at an amount considerably lower than expected for the large-scale mission.
