New James Bond movie launch postponed due to coronavirus outbreak

The producers of the newest addition to the James Bond film franchise, No Time to Die, have announced that the movie's release date is being postponed to November 2020, due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on expected theatrical revenues. No Time to Die will be star Daniel Craig's last reprisal of the iconic 007 role, and the postponement was announced after a fan site called for it.

The Cannes Film Festival will unveil a selection of movies in early June and collaborate with several festivals, including Venice, to present some films, Variety has confirmed. “As of today, a physical edition seems complicated to organize, so we are going forward with an announcement of films from the (initial Official) Selection at the beginning of June,” said a spokesperson for the festival.

John Lafia, who directed the horror film Child’s Play 2 and co-wrote Child’s Play, died by suicide this week in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office.
He co-wrote the original Child’s Play script along with director Tom Holland and myself, and John directed Child’s Play 2 — the consensus favorite film among ‘Chucky’ fans,” the statement said.
