Online retailers testing system allows retailers to call customers who visit their site

Online furniture retailer, Wayfair, is currently testing a new system that allows it to call potential customers who are just browsing their site. T-Mobile and Stubhub have similar programs and none of them have revealed what kind of customer activity prompts these calls. A number of people who were called in this way have complained online, calling the practice 'invasive'.

Disney+ launches in Europe using 25% lower bandwidth

Disney+ has launched in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland, and will be coming to the rest of Europe soon. The service will launch in France on April 7th and has been forced to use 25% lower bandwidth in order to put less strain on broadband networks.

Disney+ postpones India launch due to coronavirus

Disney has announced that it will be postponing the launch of its new streaming service in India. They said that this pause would be brief and made this announcement just after the Indian Premier League was rescheduled due to the coronavirus. They have not given a new launch date as of yet.

TikTok attempted to filter out content made by unattractive or disabled users

According to newly leaked documents, TikTok moderators were told to suppress videos made by people who were deemed to be 'too ugly', poor or disabled. They did this in order to create a more aspirational atmosphere on their platform. TikTok claimed this was being done to prevent cyberbullying on their platform, keeping vulnerable people out of the spotlight.
