Pope Francis condemns nuclear weapons

In a statement made during the papal visit to Japan, Pope Francis condemned nuclear weapons possession and protested against the abandonment of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation treaties. The Pope spoke from Nagasaki, wherein 1945, 27,000 people were killed immediately following the US' use of atomic bombs in a bid to force Japan to surrender and end the second World War.
