Queen has forbidden Harry and Markle from trademarking Sussex Royal brand

Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's reigning monarch, has forbidden her grandson Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, from trademarking and using the Sussex Royal brand after the couple announced they would be taking a step back from their duties as senior royal family members. The Queen and her officials object to the use of the word royal, saying it cannot be allowed in present circumstances.

UK asks 65,000 former medical staff to return to help combat coronavirus

Ruth May, the chief nursing officer of England, has asked more than 65,000 medical staff whose registration has expired in the last three years to return to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The Nursing and Midwifery Council is to request 50,000 nurses to return to their former jobs, while the General Medical Council will request more than 15,000 retired doctors for their expertise.

UK government will designate 10 free ports

Boris Johnson's Conservative UK government has announced that in order to encourage investment and trade, post-Brexit Britain will be announcing its own trade policy for the first time in decades since it is no longer dependent on the European Union's requirements. Pending the results of a 10-week consultation with experts, Britain is set to announce 10 designated free trade zones which will allow imports/exports without heavy customs duties.
