Rockets hit US embassy in Iraq as protests continue to escalate
The police have started using live rounds against the protesters in Baghdad, killing at least one person. The protesters are demanding the resignation of all government officials and that free and fair elections be held in the country. Five missiles were recently fired at the US embassy, wounding three people in a rare attack on the compound.

Joseph Lowery, an important ally of Martin Luthor King during the 1960's American civil rights movement, has unfortunately passed away at the age of 98. He worked for racial equality well into his nineties and died surrounded by his family. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.
