Saudi Arabia experiences heavy snowfall

Saudi Arabia has once again experienced some heavy snowfall as areas like Tabuk in the northern region became completely covered in snow. Many of the locals took to social media to show off the experience, however, nearby areas such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai have been getting torrential rain and are experiencing heavy flooding.

A drastic air pollution drop in Europe

According to some new satellite images, Europe's urban areas have much cleaner air than before the coronavirus lockdown. This can be attributed to the large decrease in traffic and the shutdown of gas emitting factories. The European Public Health Alliance has said that people living in areas with air pollution are more susceptible to the virus as it weakens the lungs.

Countries all around the world are celebrating Earth Hour 2020, an event originally hosted by the World Wildlife Foundation in 2007 to encourage individuals, communities and governments to turn off non-essential lighting and electric devices for an hour to combat climate change. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and the Kremlin Wall have gone dark for an hour starting at 8:30 pm.

Pope Francis illness sparks coronavirus fears

Only a day after Pope Francis met and blessed an Ash Wednesday congregation without the use of a mask, he has been spotted as seeming to have a cold during today's service. Vatican authorities are not revealing whether the Pope has been tested for the coronavirus, only stating that the Pope could not attend Mass for the beginning of Lent because he is suffering from a slight illness.
