Tens of thousands join Greta Thunberg's Bristol climate strike

The climate change student activist Greta Thunberg recently arrived in Bristol by train and was driven to the city's center in a Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, where more than 30,000 joined her in the Youth Strike for Climate, many of them students skipping school. Traffic was brought to a standstill in some parts of the city as businesses shut down and schools closed due to the protests.

Countries all around the world are celebrating Earth Hour 2020, an event originally hosted by the World Wildlife Foundation in 2007 to encourage individuals, communities and governments to turn off non-essential lighting and electric devices for an hour to combat climate change. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and the Kremlin Wall have gone dark for an hour starting at 8:30 pm.

Greta Thunberg believes she's had the coronavirus

Swedish teenager and student climate activist Greta Thunberg has stated that she believes she has probably had the coronavirus, but cannot confirm her suspicion with a test due to the Swedish government's directive. Thunberg says she and her father contracted the infection while on a trip to central Europe two weeks ago, that they have fully recovered since then but are still in self-isolation.
