The UK to invest £1.2 billion on weather monitoring supercomputer

The British government has revealed that they will be investing £1.2 billion on a powerful supercomputer that will collect and analyze data about the weather all over the country. This data will then be used to guide public policy and will make weather monitoring faster than it has even been.

UK researchers' coronavirus tracking app goes viral

A startup called Zoe has, in collaboration with King's College Hospital in London, launched a viral app for self-reporting COVID-19 symptoms, called C-19 COVID Symptom Tracker, garnering over 750,000 downloads in the last 24 hours, becoming the third most popular app on Apple's app store. The app is not designed for diagnosis, but rather to help medical professionals better plan their responses, and will soon be released in the US.
