Today's Google Doodle honors iconic illustrator John Tenniel

Google's latest doodle on the company's homepage celebrates the 200th birthday of legendary illustrator John Tenniel, whose Victorian drawings and iconic representations of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland characters earned him great renown. Tenniel was a self-taught artist who submitted his first oil painting to the Society of British Artists when he was only 16 years old.

Today's Google doodle on the company's homepage celebrates the 200th birthday of women's rights stalwart Susan B. Anthony, who was a pioneering figure in the women's suffrage movement and also a major voice against slavery and inequality. She died in 1906 but 14 years later women won the right to vote in an amendment that's now called the Susan B. Anthony Amendment.

Google celebrates Nkosi Johnson's life in the latest doodle

Google's homepage doodle for Tuesday celebrated the life and work of South African Nkosi Johnson, who died from HIV in 2001 at 12 years of age, and would've celebrated his 31st birthday on Tuesday had he been alive. Johnson's activism led to the first law being passed that disallowed schools from discriminating against children with AIDS, and he died as the oldest surviving child who was born with HIV.
