The US army is considering the feasibility of building a large sea wall to protect New York from storms and floods such as those caused by Hurrican Sandy in 2012. They are currently unsure if such a wall would even help and will likely be very expensive. The government is considering a large number of plans to protect the area from flooding.

Google human resources chief submits resignation
Eileen Naughton, a long-time Google employee who joined the company in 2006 and eventually took a position as Google's vice president of people operations, has announced that she will step down from her post to a lower position, saying she needs to spend more time with her husband and family in New York.
