2Africa, Facebook’s Africa project to connect 1 billion people
Facebook in collaboration with a group of leading telecom companies including China Mobile International, MTN GlobalConnect, Orange, and Vodafone, now building a subsea cable to serve the African continent and Middle East region to connect 1 billion offline people. They named the project 2Africa, companies will lay cables that will stretch to 37,000km and interconnect Europe, the Middle East, and 21 landings in 16 countries in Africa
