CBS News legend Maria Mercader dies of coronavirus
Maria Mercader, a 54-year-old talent executive and producer at CBS News, whose Emmy Award-winning journalistic work spanned three decades and included coverage of landmark events such as the 9/11 attacks and the death of Princess Diana, has passed away due to health complications caused by the COVID-19 infection. Mercader was a cancer survivor and was on medical leave when she died.
