China makes fake news and undisclosed deepfakes "illegal"

The Chinese government has announced a new policy that would make creating fake news or deepfake videos without disclosure, illegal. The government has reserved the right to prosecute both the creators and the online hosts of this content. China has said that the law is being made to combat the spread of fake news.
