Chinese game developer to pay large fine for unlicensed title

The Chinese government overhauled its gaming regulations last year, so that any Chinese developer that releases a game without a license will be liable to pay serious fines. The law has come into effect for the first time with the case of an unnamed mobile game developer operating in Beijing, which has been fined for 700,000 CNY, seven times the revenue made, for releasing an unlicensed game.
