The Court of Arbitration for Sport has issued an eight-year ban on Chinese three-time Olympic swimming champion Sun Yang, citing failure to comply with its regulators when they approached him to collect samples for an anti-doping test in September 2018. Sun Yang has announced that he will appeal the decision.

ITF exempts Farah from the ban after testing positive in the doping test
Robert Farah, the 33-year-old Colombian tennis star and Wimbledon and US Open doubles champion, has been exempted from a ban by the International Tennis Federation, even though he tested positive for banned substances in an anti-doping test. The ITF states that the banned substance is commonly found in Colombian meat products and so Farah bears no fault or negligence for testing positively for it.
