Four of the largest cinema chains in the UK, namely the Odeon, Cineworld, Vue, and Picturehouse have announced that they are temporarily shutting down operations in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement came as box offices saw revenue decline by nearly 50 percent as film fans stayed away from packed crowds to avoid the contagious infection.
