Court approves investigation into Myanmar's Rohingya deportation

The war crimes court, based in The Hague, agreed to a prosecution request regarding crimes against humanity committed against Myanmar's Rohingya population, as it is estimated about 700,000 Rohingya have been forced out of Myanmar into neighboring Bangladesh since 2017. The years since have seen an unprecedented crackdown against the Rohingya by Myanmar's armed forces, which UN investigators deemed 'genocidal'.

India executes men responsible for horrific 2012 Delhi bus rape

India has hanged four men who were convicted of raping and murdering a young woman on a bus in Delhi in 2012. Hundreds of people gathered outside the prison to celebrate the execution. They were initially sentenced to death in 2013 in a fast track court and all of their pleas were rejected.

Israel gets official approval to fly commercial planes over Sudan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israeli commercial planes can now overfly Sudan. This announcement came as a result of talks between Netanyahu and Sudan’s military head of state, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. Israel previously considered Sudan a security threat since but is on its way to normalize relations with the country.
