Facebook will remove 'deepfake' videos from its platform

Ahead of the United States presidential election in 2020, Facebook has announced that it is going to remove all 'deepfake' videos from its platform, following concerns about their misinformation capabilities. 'Deepfakes' are defined by Facebook as videos edited or altered through artificial intelligence or machine learning in ways not immediately obvious to common users, and does include deepfakes made for parody or satire.
