Global donkey population threatened by Chinese medicine

Donkey Sanctuary, a donkey welfare advocacy organization, reported that donkey populations all over the world were threatened by the demand for donkey hides in traditional Chinese medicine 'ejiao'. The report states the world could lose 50 percent of its donkey population in less than 5 years, and advocates for sustainable ingredients to be used in ejiao, calling out gross mistreatment of donkeys bred for use in ejiao.
