Microsoft leads an attack against the world's largest bot network

A statement from tech giant Microsoft, one of the most valuable companies in the world, has stated that the company has successfully participated in a project to dismantle Necurs, one of the world's largest zombie bot networks, which are webs of internet-connected devices that are used to accomplish tasks automatically. Necurs had been responsible for several cyberattacks aimed at stealing customer information and phishing scams across the world.

Garmin, the GPS and wearable device company, says a widespread blackout has left its fitness devices, website and call centers offline for more than 24 hours in what may be a ransomware attack.
