Pope visits Thailand, tells locals to not see Christianity as 'foreign'

Pope Francis, on the last day of his trip to Thailand, said that the Thai people should not see Christianity as a foreign religion. Although Christians comprise less than 1 percent of the total population and are largely treated well in modern times, this was not always the case. Catholics were heavily persecuted in Thailand during World War 2.
