Robert Downey Jr.'s Dr Dolittle disappoints at the box office

In his first movie release after leaving Marvel's Avengers franchise, Robert Downey Jr. starred as the eponymous Dr. Dolittle in a reboot of the movie series based on the books by Hugh Lofting. The movie had a budget of approximately 175 million USD, but has had a disappointing run at the box office, with overall estimated earnings of only 50 million USD.
