Scholastic makes daily courses free for schoolchildren stuck at home due to coronavirus

The public education firm Scholastic has made up to three hours of daily courses on its website free for schoolchildren who are stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Scholastic's Learn From Home section will allow students to choose from four categories: Pre-K and kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3-5 and Grade 6+, with free content available for a week, with 15 more days on the way.

According to TikTok’s latest transparency report published on Thursday, TikTok removed over 49 million videos for content violations in just six months as the company received 500 requests from different Governments. India, where the app was banned last week, had 16.5 million videos removed, which is roughly four times more than any other country. The U.S. had the second most videos removed with 4.6 million. Google plans to pay publishers for news content

After increasing pressure from multiple countries to compensate publishers, Google announced that the company will pay for news content from select publishers as part of a new licensing program announced today. It says the content will form part of a “new news experience” coming later this year.
