Stanford announces 2-week hiatus in classes due to coronavirus

Stanford University, one of the world's elite research universities based in California, has announced that it is canceling all events and classes for the next two weeks until the university's winter quarter examinations due to the coronavirus outbreak, with professors allowed to conduct classes in an online format. The announcement comes as two Stanford students have been placed in isolation for possible exposure to COVID-19.
