Australia's Prime Minister is looking to gain more federal powers to combat bushfire emergency

Australia's Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, has announced that he wants greater federal powers during natural disasters and that there should be a framework via which he could declare a state of emergency during these disasters. He claimed the reason he could not act effectively this year was that local governments were overseeing disaster management.
