Newly appointed Alphabet head Sundar Pichai demands AI regulation
Sundar Pichai, the 47-year-old CEO of Google and newly appointed CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet, wrote an article in the Financial Times advising a measured approach to regulating AI while recognizing the dangers of AI technologies such as deepfakes, which are are falsely edited videos in the same way images are faked in Adobe Photoshop.

Google Starts Including Wildfire Data in Maps and Search
Google is assisting -- in its own way -- with fighting the wildfires currently ravaging California. On Thursday, Google announced in an official blog post written by Vice President of Engineering and Crisis Response global lead Yossi Matias that it has added features to its Maps and Search services to help users track the location and severity of the fires.
