Stalker 2 will use the Unreal Engine to support modding

The original fan-favorite Stalker games are finally getting a sequel with the new game being built entirely on Unreal Engine. The developers have decided not to use the same engine as the original game in order to provide a smoother experience for players as well as modders. The game currently does not have a release date.

French video game studio Ubisoft has announced that the coronavirus has disrupted the company's regular operations. They have said that development on most of their projects, such as the incredibly popular Rainbow Six Siege, will have to either pause or at least slow down for the foreseeable future. The company has enacted a work from home policy for its employees.

Epic Games acquires facial mapping company

Epic Games, the developers of Fornite, which has been the bestselling game in the world for two years, and also the creators of the Unreal Engine, have acquired a UK-based facial recognition and mapping startup called Cubic Motion, in order to be able to capture much more realistic facial animations for their characters. Cubic Motion's technology was previously featured on the popular God of War and Spiderman game series.
