Google to abandon Chrome updates amid coronavirus outbreak

The search and online advertising giant Google, owned by parent company Alphabet, has stated that amid the crisis precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is abandoning all current branches, infra support, testing and merging of branches of its next Chrome browser update, named M82, a move unprecedented in the browser's 11-year history that came as a shock to Chrome's 2 billion users worldwide.
